CAF Women's Olympic qualifiers: Ghana host Benin with a three-goal advantage from first leg

The Black Queens of Ghana will go into the second leg of the Olympic Games qualifiers against Benin with a three-goal advantage.

In the first leg of the second-round qualifiers played in Cotonou, the Queens thrashed the Beninois 3-0 to render the second leg in Accra on Tuesday a mere formality.

Striker Doris Boaduwaa registered the first goal for the Queens in the first half from the penalty spot before Gifty Assifuah added two goals in the 73rd and 78th minutes.

Coach Nora Hauptle and her ladies have put up some impressive results in recent times and are hoping to book one of the tickets for the Paris 2024 Olympics.

The qualifiers are getting keener, but Ghana is expected to be counted among the eight victorious teams from the second round that will progress to the third round of the qualifiers.

The Queens are not only looking forward to the third and fourth rounds of the CAF Women’s Olympic qualifiers, but they are hoping to clinch one of the two tickets reserved for Africa in Paris 2024.
