2023 African Games: Black Satellites and Black Princesses through to semifinals
Ghana’s representatives in the soccer competitions of the ongoing 13th African Games, Accra 2023, have qualified for the semifinals.
The U-20 men’s team, the Black Satellites qualified to the medal zone after a 1-0 victory over fellow West Africans Benin. The result means the Satellites are yet to lose a game in the competition.
The female U-20 side, the Black Princesses are also through to the medal zone after a 1-1 draw against Uganda at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
The Princesses, who conceded the opening goal in the 10th minute, fought back and leveled the score through Abdulia Mukarama.
Ghana clinched the top spot in the group stage and will face Senegal in the semifinals as they fight for a medal in the competition. The other semifinal is between Uganda and Nigeria.
