The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has fired Black Stars coach Chris Hughton and his backroom staff.
A short statement on the official website of the federation reads: “The Ghana Football Association wishes to announce that Chris Hughton has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the senior national team with immediate effect.”
The statement continued: “The Executive Council has also taken a decision to dissolve the technical team of the Black Stars.”
The federation assured that it will provide a roadmap on the future direction of the team.
Chris Hughton and the rest of the technical team supervised a shambolic campaign of the Stars at the ongoing African Cup of Nations.
The Black Stars failed to win a single game in the Group Stage after losing to Cape Verde and drawing with Egypt and Mozambique.
