FIFA President Gianni Infantino discusses soccer development with Malawi and Madagascar Federations
President of FIFA, Gianni Infantino has met the President of the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), Walter Nyamilandu at FIFA’s Paris bureau to discuss the development of youth and women’s football in the Southern African country.
High on the agenda was the renovations of FAM’s technical center in Blantyre which has ensured that the Malawi national teams will camp in improved facilities.
The renovations of the technical center were made possible thanks to FIFA Forward funds.
FAM President Walter Nyamilandu says the meeting focused on youth development.
The Malawi women’s national team won the COSAFA Women’s Championship last weekend.
The newly elected President of the Malagasy Football Association (FMF), Alfred Randriamanampisoa, also met the FIFA President to discuss his plans to develop football in the Indian Ocean nation. The fruitful discussions centered on the importance of good pitches for football development, women’s soccer, and the ways in which the FIFA Forward program can help Madagascar.
