Ghana Black Queens regroup for next round of WAFCON qualifiers
Ghana’s women’s senior national team, the Black Queens will regroup for the next round of the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers as they prepare to host Namibia in Accra next month.
In a bid to continue their winning ways, head coach Nora Hauptle has invited experienced Sherifatu Sumaila of Hapoel Peta Tikva and Real Sociedad’s Jacqueline Owusu to help secure a ticket to next year’s tournament in Morocco.
After her exploits in the just-ended CAF Women’s Champions League, Ampem Darkoa Ladies’ defender Comfort Yeboah has been rewarded with a call-up to the senior national team.
Other notable names in the squad include Ernestina Abambila, Portia Boakye, Evelyn Badu, and Doris Boaduwaa.
