DC United to host Ghanaian champions Medeama SC in a special international friendly match
Major League Soccer (MLS) side DC United will play host to Ghanaian champions Medeama SC in a special international friendly match on Saturday, October 14 at the Audi Field.
The friendly in Washington, DC forms part of activities marking the celebration of the Africa Week Festival from October 9th to 14th.
Medeama SC who won the Ghana Premier League title last season and have qualified to the group stage of the CAF Champions League, will use the first-ever Capital City Africa Cup to prepare for the CAF Champions League and also showcase some of their talents in the team.
DC United failed to qualify to the MLS playoffs and have recently parted ways with their coach, Wayne Rooney.
The Capital City Africa Cup is being organized by the Ghana Embassy in Washington, DC, the Ghana Tourism Authority, LIQUID SOUL-DC, Events DC, and DC United.
