Liverpool not ready to let go of Mo Salah

As Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad continue their pursuit of the Egyptian

Premier League giants Liverpool say they are not ready to sell their star striker Mohamed Salah to Saudi Arabian champions Al-Ittihad, but the Saudi Arabian Pro League side are not giving up the chase for the signature of the Egyptian goal poacher yet.

New reports indicate that AL-Ittihad are doing everything possible to add Mo Salah to their star-studded lineup of former Real Madrid star Karim Benzema, Salah’s former Liverpool teammate Fabinho as well as former Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante.

The current situation presents a dicey situation to the Premiership giants because the Saudi transfer season does not close until September 7. Al Ittihad will have the luxury of seven more days to trigger a deal for Salah even at the end of the European transfer season.

Early this month, Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa was sure the striker would stay at Liverpool. He was quoted as saying “Mohamed remains committed to Liverpool. If we considered leaving Liverpool this year, we wouldn’t have renewed the contract last summer.”

But Salah’s agent is yet to shoot down the recent reports that suggest that the striker could make a move to the Saudi Pro League with Al Ittihad preparing to table down a juicy offer.

Salah has nothing more to prove in the Premier League after scoring 187 goals in 307 games for Liverpool. He has also won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup during his time at Anfield.
