The former West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) star is joining the red side of New York from his parent club Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Bundesliga.

And he couldn’t hide his excitement when he announced his new move.

“I am excited to be joining the New York Red Bulls. I am looking forward to meeting my new teammates and the fans and hopefully we can achieve great things together”, the Black Stars striker noted.

New York Red Bulls Head of Sport, Kevin Thelwell said: “Samuel is an exciting attacking player that our scouts have been following.

“He is strong physically and technically, and plays with a lot of confidence. He’s got an intelligence in each phase of the game and we believe he’ll fit in well with our group.”

Speaking on the move for the 24-year old Ghanaian forward, head coach of New York Red Bulls, Chris Armas agreed with the organization’s Head of Sport that Tetteh is an important addition to the Red Bulls.

“Samuel is a very interesting attacking player. He’s intelligent, he can create on his own and can stretch back lines with his speed. We know that Samuel has big potential and we are excited to get to work with him”, the coach of Red Bulls noted. According to Red Bulls, Tetteh’s loan deal is for the 2020 season with an option to buy, and the player will occupy an international spot on the roster of the MLS side.
