All set for 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs

The Audi 2019 MLS Cup Playoffs will commence next week as 12 clubs battle for Conference Semifinal spots.

After almost eight months of regular season, the boys have been separated from the men as first round single-elimination encounters hotten up.

In the Eastern Conference, Toronto FC will play host to DC United while New York Red Bulls play as guests of Philadelphia Union. The other first round encounter is between Atlanta United and New England Revolutions.

Eastern Conference winners New York City FC will begin their postseason journey from the conference semifinals.

The Western Conference Round 1 fixtures include Minnesota United vs LA Galaxy, Salt Lake vs Portland Timbers as well as Seattle Sounders vs Dallas FC.

Conference winners LAFC will play the winner of the tie involving Minnesota FC and LA Galaxy in the conference semifinals

As per the MLS regulations, higher seeds for the first round will enjoy a home advantage as winners advance to the Conference Semifinals.

The Conference Semifinals will also be a single-elimination game with the higher seeds playing as hosts while the winners advance to the Conference Finals.

Again, the Conference Finals will also be a single-elimination game with the higher seed playing as hosts and winners advance to MLS Cup.

Just like the other rounds, the MLS Cup will be hosted by the qualified team with the higher ranked.
