Gyan, Wakaso, Mensah return for Black Stars clash against Sierra Leone

Ghana coach Kwasi Appiah will continue experimenting players for the Black Stars as he names a 23-man squad for the 2019 Cup of Nations qualifier against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on October 11.

The players in the musical chair include American based Jonathan Mensah who makes a return to the team after he was overlooked in last month's clash against the Harambee Stars of Kenya. Mensah’s club teammate Harrison Afful who made the cut for the Kenya game also earned a call up for this tie.

Meanwhile, captain Asamoah Gyan, defenders Lumor Agbenyenu and John Boye as well as midfielders Mubarak Wakaso and Bernard Mensah are all making a return to the team while Asante Kotoko goalie Felix Annan also earns a call up for the game.

Another notable addition to the Stars is Nana Ampomah of Waasland-Beveren in the Belgian league.

The Stars will host the Leone Stars on October 11 at the Kumasi Baba Yara Sports Stadium as they seek to bounce back from their disappointing outing against Kenya.

Below is the 23-man squad:
