Can Lloyd Sam and Red Bulls add the 2015 MLS Cup to the Supporters Shield?
Ghana’s Lloyd Sam and his New York Red Bulls teammates who claimed their second Supporters’ Shield, and second in the last three seasons, have set their sights on the 2015 MLS Cup.

After setting a new franchise record with 18 wins in a season, Lloyd Sam and his colleagues are among the favorites to clinch the MLS Cup. Sam was hopeful that Red bulls can clinch the title.

“Hopefully, we can get it done”, he noted in a brief chat. The Red Bulls will hold home-field advantage throughout the 2015 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs, and would also host MLS Cup, should they advance through the Eastern Conference.

The New Yorkers await the results of the knockout round, due to be played this Wednesday and Thursday, to learn their next opponent for the Eastern Conference semifinals.

As per the competition format, Red Bulls will travel to the lowest remaining seed to open the conference semifinals on Sunday, November 1 and return home to host the second leg of the series on Sunday, November 8.

Apart from Lloyd Sam, five more Ghanaians will represent their clubs in the playoffs.

They are Dominic Oduro (Montreal Impact), Kofi Opare (DC United), Gershon Koffie (Vancouver Whitecaps), Adam Larsen Kwarasey (Portland Timbers) and Harrison Afful (Columbus Crew).
