Ghana’s Harrison Afful and Dominic Oduro in a stalemate

Ghana’s Harrison Afful and Dominic Oduro played a bigger part of the third clash between Columbus Crew SC and Montreal Impact in the ongoing Major League Soccer (MLS) but the two could not inspire their teams to victory.

The third meeting between the Crew and the Impact was expected to provide a perfect opportunity for Afful and Oduro to settle the scores once and for all, after a victory each in their last two games, but none of them could seize the opportunity as they battled out a pulsating goalless draw.

Afful played the entire duration of the game for the Crews while Oduro played for 89 minutes.

At the Yankee Stadium on Saturday, Kwadwo Poku played just nine minutes in New York City FC’s 3-2 victory over visitors Philadelphia Union. While Poku was introduced after 81st minute, his Ghanaian compatriot Joshua Yaro did not travel with Philadelphia as he is yet to be cleared after a minor injury.

Another Ghanaian youngster Emmanuel Boateng played the last 24 minutes for LA Galaxy when they lost 0-1 on the road to Toronto FC.

Colorado Rapids defeated Chicago Fire by 2-1. Ghana’s David Accam played the entire duration for Chicago as he assisted in their consolation goal while Kofi Opare was at the center of DC United’s defense when they held Houston Dynamo to a goalless draw. He played for 90 minutes.

Lloyd Sam and Gideon Baah were on the winning side as New York Red Bulls defeated Seattle Sounders by 2-0. Sam played for 75 minutes with Baah seeing action in the last eight minutes for Red Bulls.

Meanwhile, Ghana’s Right to Dream products, David Accam and Joshua Yaro may clash on Wednesday when Chicago Fire play as guests of Philadelphia Union in a midweek clash depending on the fitness level of Yaro who sat out last weekend due to a minor injury.
