Ghanaians in MLS: Lloyd Sam and Patrick Nyarko on target, Accam is fit again
Out of 10 matches in the week nine of the 2016 Major League Soccer (MLS), eight games had various Ghanaian interests with as many as 10 known Ghanaians involved.

It turned out to be a good weekend for Chicago Fire striker David Accam who made an appearance on the bench for the Fire after a month of absence when they hosted a DC United side that paraded midfielder Patrick Nyarko and defender Kofi Opare.

Even though Accam was an unused substitute, he exclusively confirmed to Ghana Soccer US ( that he is much fit again and raring to go.

On the said match itself, DC United had Patrick Nyarko to thank as he rescued a point for them after his equalizer against his former team on the 64th minute. Nyarko played the entire game but compatriot Kofi Opare was an unused substitute for DC as the game ended one all.

Striker Lloyd Sam put up another inspiring display when New York Red Bulls hammered FC Dallas by 4-0. Sam played 72 minutes and scored a goal on the 37 minute after a well rehearsed free kick.

Dominic Oduro played the entire game when Montreal Impact were held to a 2-2 tie by Colorado Rapids at home.

Seattle Sounders defeated Columbus Crew SC by a lone goal. Defender Harrison Afful played the entire game but his performance was not enough to take Columbus out of trouble.

Young defender Joshua Yaro put up another impressive show when Philadelphia Union drew 1-1 with San Jose Earthquakes. He lasted the entire duration of the game for the Union.

Gershon Koffie has remained a constant figure for New England Revolution since he made a move to the Boston side and last weekend was no exception as he saw action in the entire duration when New England played out a 2-2 draw against Orlando City.

Another youngster, Emmanuel Boateng is having a time of his life with the LA Galaxy. He played the entire duration of the game for LA when they held Sporting KC to 1-1 tie on the road.

New York City FC were 3-2 victors over Vancouver Whitecaps. It was their first win in seven games but Ghana’s Kwadwo Poku did not see action as he sat on the bench throughout the game.
